Walking along the coast along Table bay (Cape Town, South Africa), I noticed by chance the red stems of this common beach plant. The stems are covered with ‘bubbles’ which look like rubies and diamonds in the light. This plant is commonly known as the Ice plant (Herbe à glace en français). The botanical name is Mesembryanthermum Crystallinum. Super plant for macro photography.
